John plays all genres of dance on the i-Mix, but at gigs you just don’t know what’s next, “The element of surprise is a powerful tool, but balancing that with credibility has taken me a while to perfect. Play to the crowd and not to youself is the cardinal rule I’ve always stuck to, whether you’re playing at a teenage disco, Commercial Club, house party or full on dance party.

John, a Corkonian started DJ-ing when he was 16 in Corks renowned dance club Sir Henrys! From there John worked the DJ-ing circuit around cork until 2005 before moving to Belfast where he took up residencies in some of Belfasts' biggest clubs like Beach Club and Box. “There’s no better feeling than knowing you have the crowd hooked, only performers, bands or DJ’s can experience that I think, the connection between a DJ and the crowd is like nothing you can explain, immense is the word, DJ-ing is life, Music is life”.
Graduating with Honors from “Radio College” in Cork in 2005 (Coláiste Stiofain Naofa), John spent some time working with Corks Red FM as a sport reporter jumping at any chance to work in radio no matter what, from there he joined Seven FM and the Northern media group in the North of Ireland as assistant producer and within a year had rushed through the ranks to Head Of Production of the entire Network. In late 2008, with itchy feet John decided leave the north and take up the Production position in i105107. Now Head of Production for i-Radio (i105107 & i102104) John relishes the fact that he’s working in Radio every day, “My dad asked me a couple of years ago what my goal was, I answered; I want to work in radio Monday to Friday and spin a few choonz at the weekend”, I made it!
